Taiwan-based solar wafer maker Sino-American Silicon (SAS) reported 2012 total revenues of NT$4.414 billion (US$152 million) and global consolidated revenues of NT$19.072 billion. In particular, the firm's subsidiary GlobalWafers reported consolidated revenues of NT$14.037 billion, accounting for 70% of total revenues for the group.

SAS noted that the merger of its sapphire substrate subsidiary Sino Sapphire with CrystalWise has been in effect since January 1, 2013. CrystalWise is the surviving company. After the merger, the new firm's capital is NT$1.686 billion, and SAS is the biggest shareholder with 43% of shares.
