Ever since Mercedes - Benz selected Absen Optoelectronic for the first time as the LED display provider at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011, Absen’s LED displays have become the first choice for Mercedes-Benz at major world auto shows during 2012 and 2013. This is a true long-term collaboration!

At the recently concluded 15th Shanghai International Automobile Exhibition, in addition to Mercedes-Benz, the world-class luxury car Lamborghini also chose Absen for the LED display at its booth, using Absen’s MI069 panels to create a stylish and grand booth.

On the exhibition’s first day Lamborghini launched their 50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition model LP720-4 at the N1 Hall. The luxury car pavilion was packed with crowds eager to get a glimpse of the latest Lamborghini. The huge Lamborghini booth used Absen’s LED display as the backdrop, to playback videos of the new car, and exhibit detailed pictures of this new model. The stunning and classic sports car on display, along with the beautiful models, perfect music and the brilliant LED display backdrop by Absen made Lamborghini’s product launch a resounding success. Cameramen from various media outlets clicked a plethora of pictures as industry professionals and visitors surrounded the booth, making the launch the highlight of the entire show.

At the show, Mercedes - Benz showcased 42 models from its three major brands, Mercedes-Benz, Smart and AMG at their grand and classic booth. This is the fourth time Absen has cooperated with Mercedes-Benz (the first three times were the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the 2012 Beijing International Auto Show and 2012 Shenzhen Auto Show). The LED displays were installed in every major facet of the booth usable for displays, creating a unique three-dimensional, layered affect. The displays once again presented Mercedes-Benz in all its glory, and epitomized its culture.

Both Lamborghini and Mercedes-Benz booths used Absen’s MI069 LED displays at the Shanghai Auto Show. The MI069 are currently the number one indoor display rental products in the industry. With a pixel pitch of 6.9mm, and 65536 gray scale level, MI069 provides ultra-high contrast. The high refresh rate of 10,000 Hz ensures ultra-high definition display effect. A lot of user-friendly and simple designs have been implemented in MI069, such as the removable connectors that help save a significant amount of time on installation and dismantling.

Absen also received exciting news from its U.S. subsidiary this week. World famous car brand Ford chose Absen’s LED display products for the Ford Innovation Forum held at the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Ford chose Absen’s A5 and A7 display products that feature “High-definition Images, Thin Displays and Seamless Mosaic”. The A5 display covered an area of 96 m2 whereas the A7 display covered an area of 132 m2.

Within half a month’s time, Absen’s LED displays have been used at large-scale events for Mercedes - Benz, Lamborghini and Ford. This is strong validation of Absen’s quality and recognition by top-class international automotive brands. Tips for Exclusive LED Displays at Auto shows:

Auto shows have extremely high requirements for LED displays as they have to face strong lights, cameras and video recording equipment. The luxury car on display maybe spectacular, but if the displays have poor refresh rates, low brightness, inadequate gray scale levels, and other non-compliant features, then photos and videos captured from the displays will be of poor quality, with water ripples and moiré in the images. This will be fatal for the brand. That is why all high-end car brands use LED displays with refresh rate of about 10,000Hz.

On the other hand videos displayed during auto shows have specific needs. To create a contrast between the cars displayed and to showcase their performance in the video, backgrounds with single colors such as mountains or waterways are often used, and videos often switch between slow-motion and faster scene displays. All this requires very high quality LED display performance with strong features. Absen’s MI069 is specifically developed for high-end car brand conferences, exhibitions and other events.

Absen A3/A5/A7 series are also new products exclusively designed for indoor high-end rentals. There are several other products available with different pixel pitch based on customer requirements.
